Is there actually a way? Yes! & here’s how!

Made using Canva

Let’s face it, Squarespace 7.1 has better themes and a bunch of different new features. But, moving your blog from a Squarespace 7.0 site to Squarespace 7.1 isn’t easy. In fact, it’s not possible based on the information I found on Squarespace’s site.

Sure, you can download a bunch of .csv files and upload them, but I know nothing about code (which is why I picked Squarespace in the first place) so no, I won’t be doing that.

At present, my website is fairly simple; landing pages, portfolio, testimonials, contact, schedule calls, and a blog. But, I want to take it up a notch and think 7.1 might be a good way to go.

But, there’s no way to migrate your blog, and quite frankly, who wants to start over, writing blog posts and uploading them?

So, I found a workaround.

Before starting, you’ll have already created your site in 7.1, and the only thing left to do, migrating your blog from your old site to your new site.

You’ll first need to head over to WordPress.com and create a WordPress blog. It’s what you’ll need to bypass some of the steps below.

WordPress Blog

Once you’ve completed the step above.

Head over to your 7.0 old Squarespace site,

Settings > Advanced > Import/Export

Squarespace Account Dashboard

Click on Import/Export and follow the steps below.

First you want to export your blog from Squarespace 7.0 to the new WordPress blog you just created.

Export from Squarespace to WordPress

When this stage is complete and your entire blog from Squarespace 7.0 is now in your new WordPress.com site,
